MITCH MITCHELL Drum Solo Sweden, January 9, 1969.
11 21st, 2008
The legendary Mitch Mitchell pioneered a style of drumming, which would later become known as fusion. This is a "lead" style of playing distinguished by interplay with lead instruments such as guitar or keyboards, and the melding of jazz and rock drumming styles.Alongside Hendrix's revolutionary guitar work and songwriting, Mitchell's playing helped redefine rock music drumming. Mitch Mitchell playing style is like one big solo and sounds far more impressive when its not intended to be. He does everything he needs within the songs. Mitch Mitchell, the best, the intuitive, the creator of the fusion, the inovator and versatile drummer ever.

Playing Mitch Mitchell Jimi Hendrix's Manic Depression
11 21st, 2008
By request. I messed up in the beginning but I felt it didn't warrant another take to get the beginning cymbal crash correct. This is my interpretation (inspiration) and I do not claim to be able to play this exactly 100% as Mitch Mitchell did but I hope I caught the overall feel of the song and I hope to inspire you as I have been inspired by his drumming for way over 30+ years. I am currently using 15 inch Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats vintage 1974, 2-18 inch Paiste 2002 cymbals 80s vintage, 20 inch Black label 2002 ride vintage 1978, 18 inch Sabian paragon (nice!) For stereo click: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWLGXQ98fJM&feature=related&fmt=18 This song is so cool and it is a true story. I am a fan of Mitch Mckendry aka "Mitch Master". I was fortunate to see him play live and what a show it was, I was in Thailand at the time. He started playing this song as the sun was going down and the tropical air full of aroma, I loved it. I have ask Mitch Master if I could use his song and I have his permission. Mitch wrote this song about a true story that happened to him in Jamaica. Mitch was in Jamaica in 1976 and taken up to Bob Marley's house. That night a man came up to Mitch said he was Bob's Witch Doctor and started preaching inches from from Mitch Master's face all about his view on the world and politics, he said it was quite an experience. Mitch was born in Hollywood and now lives in Thailand. I have visited Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Phuket, Ao Nang, Krabi and Bangkok. You can read Mitch Master Bio. at http://www.myspace.com/mitchmckendry James Gurley Janis Joplin lead guitarist named Mitch McKendry "Mitch Master" when Mitch played lead guitar in there band Red Robin & the Worms. 11 21st, 2008
For stereo click: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH4v0OaGISE&feature=related&fmt=18 Excellent emotional guitar solo at the end of this song.Mitch Master's Jamaica the beginning is from the heart the end from the soul, all emotion. Its about being on the road or a holiday and fallen in love with a special person, tomorrow you have to go and that's the other side of the world and you know you may never see her again. You miss her so much, no one understands all you do is think of her,a heartbreaker, than comes that long guitar solo and all those feelings come out in Mitch's stratocaster guitar. One of Mitch's favorite song to play, a favorite of a lot of his fans around the world. Jamaica is usually the last song in his 2 hour show to say good bye. Mitch was born in Hollywood and now lives in Thailand.I visited like Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Phuket, Ao Nang, Krabi and Bangkok.
