This is one of many slideshows / videos I have made supporting the U.S. Military. I am enlisted in the Marine Corps and go to MCRD San Diego on July 13. Please show your support by watching my videos and feel fry to stop by my channel or toss me a subscriber, I promise I don't bite! My videos and time spent on them are dedicated to Jason L. Dunham. Although I never knew or met the young Marine, his actions uphold and show what the Marine Corps tradition truly is about. Born November 10, 1981 (The Marine Corps birthday) he jumped on an enemy grenade, covering it with his helmet and saving the lives of two other Marines in exchange for his own. He died eight days later on April 22, 2004 at the age of 22. He later received the highest medal of the United States Military, the Medal of Honor. Cpl. December 1995 The rape of a Japanese school girl by US soldiers led to increasing tension between Japan's Self-Defence Force and the American Army in Japan. Meanwhile British Government representatives are negotiating to train members of the SDF in Britain. This follows pressure to increase the role of Japan's army in international peace-keeping. Our film shows how the SDF is anxious to dispel its World War II reputation as a ruthless war machine after 50 years without an active military role. Publicity campaigns and 9000 women soldiers combine to present a soft, friendly military Image. The SDF's efforts after the Kobe earthquake improved its reputation at home, but internationally memories of Japan's atrocities remain too fresh to let the SDF rebuild any real military muscle.

On Friday, August 8, Georgia launched a military offensive against its breakaway republic of South Ossetia. Artillery shelling and tanks have reportedly reduced the region's capital Tskhinvaly to ruins. Russia has sent its army to help peacekeepers stop the violence.
