Spanning over one thousand years, and three parallel stories, 'The Fountain' is a bold story of love, death, spirituality, and the fragility of our existence in this world. The movie has been in production for some considerable time, only finally wrapping earlier this year. In early 2002, writer/director Darren Aronofsky ('Pi', 'Requiem For A Dream') cast Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett in the central leads of Tom and Izzi with a budget of $75 million. During pre-production, Pitt and Aronofsky were having major creative differences, so Pitt left to film 'Troy' instead and the film was shut down. In early 2004, with a smaller budget of $40 million, Aronofsky cast Hugh Jackman as Tom, and his wife Rachel Weisz replaced Blanchett as Izzi. This movie will be unlike anything you have ever seen before, and I urge you to go and see it when released in the UK early next year (it has an October release in the USA)

This device creates the illusion that a simple stream of water droplets can defy the known laws of physics. By controlling a set of flickering LEDs, the dripping water can appear to slow down, freeze in mid-air, and even reverse in direction. This illusion exists because the brain attempts to fill in the gaps between flashes with its anticipated motion. It is the same reason that your brain interprets the 24 frames/second of a movie to be in-motion, rather than recognizing the individual still frames . I love Fountains of Bellagio. If I can, I'd like to enjoy Fountains of Bellagio everyday. But I can't. Because I'm living at Japan! So, Sometimes I watch this video, and I think about next vacation at Las Vegas. This video was taken on March 03, 2006. (It's a nice vacation for me.)
