Comments to “06/11/08 Manhattan, KS Tornado (Incredible sky cam footage)”

January 7th, 2009 at 19:21:56 Yeah, it does..but looking at the way the light was illuminating, it seem that was just really heavy rain and hail moving into town. I didn't see the power going out so the tornado couldn't of been in the shot. At 3:06 a flash of light illuminated the sky to the right of the picture. That could've been a possible power flash, so I'd have to say the tornado possibly was just off to the right of the view finder.
January 7th, 2009 at 19:44:55 depends how wide it was
January 7th, 2009 at 20:07:54 at 3:06 are those power flashes?
January 7th, 2009 at 20:30:53 Honestly, that tornado wasn't in the shot untill they panned right at the very end. The majority of the footage was pointing towards the shelf cloud and the intense rain and hail underneath it coming into town. The tornado pretty much broad sided the camera.
January 7th, 2009 at 20:53:52 to my honest opinion Dave Freeman is one of the best Meteorologists, but these guys did a very very good job especially to get it on camera
January 7th, 2009 at 21:16:51 maine even had some
January 7th, 2009 at 21:39:50 Yeah Michigan doesn't get much in the metro Detroit area. Which really does hinder my storm chasing abilities.
January 7th, 2009 at 22:02:49 not sure how big it was. my dad doesnt like to talk about it. like i said tho my dad was 13 and 3 of his friends died =/ and both his legs were broken
January 7th, 2009 at 22:25:48 that is so cool
January 7th, 2009 at 22:48:47 yow! how big was the one your dad was inside? what happened?
January 7th, 2009 at 23:11:46 something similar happened to me i was in the car on my way home from a baseball game that got canceled and it was probably the darkest ive ever seen the sky being and it turns out a tornado wasnt a few miles away from us. as you said ur mother saw a tornado my Dad was inside of one when he was about 13 and broke both of his legs =/ glad im here
January 7th, 2009 at 23:34:45 Some states are less likely to have devastating tornadoes. There are some areas in those states, that it's extremely rare to have a tornado. I've lived in Michigan all of my life. I've never seen one, although I supposedly drove right through one, one afternoon. It was so black that I just couldn't/didn't see it. But there was a confirmed touchdown on that same road, at the exact same time of day that I passed through, trying to get home quickly! My mom,74,has seen one actual funnel cloud
January 8th, 2009 at 23:57:44 all da states in da U.S besides maine
January 8th, 2009 at 00:20:43 In the US, all states have tornadoes.
January 8th, 2009 at 00:43:42 Which state does not have tornadoes?
January 8th, 2009 at 01:06:41 trust me u dont ever wanna see one
January 8th, 2009 at 01:29:40 Hard to believe this all happened one day before my 30th birthday (June 12).
January 8th, 2009 at 01:52:39 Matt, Craig and Alex did the best job that night covering the storms. They were the only ones to have the tornado on live Manhattan webcam. I think KSNT might have had the tornado on the air but their cameras are crappy.
January 8th, 2009 at 02:15:38 cripes!
