Comments to “Obama won because of Hip Hop - Go Dizzee Rascal”
  1. Mahpee Says:
Why would the bbc expect dizzee rascal to provide answers that would live up to the expectations of the shows viewers, who are most probably middle class people who couldnt give a fuck about what he was saying. Dizzee isnt a fool , ive seen other videos/docos that prove that he is infact a very intelligent person. "dizzee4pm" .. if you listen to some of his other stuff , its pretty mad. Best mc out. Dizzee is a legend , straight up, you cant really judge him on this, its not his environment.
  2. Hugiherahta Says:
I think what he was trying to say about Hip-Hop is that it has opened up popular Black culture to a mainstream white audience in the USA which young non-black people have embraced and this has sown a fundamental shift in the way that white people see black people. Of course not all rappers promote a positive image and a lot of white folk hate hip hop saying that it typifies the activities of young black people but end of the day hip-hop has helped to change perceptions and that is important
  3. Scirwode Says:
Thank you...This FOOL is one of England's up an coming rappers. The BBC strategically put's this black man on tv to counter Obama's achievement and say you may have won the battle but you ain't won the war, cause this is still who you are n****rs! - complete disgrace!
  4. Duffy Says:
In fact I don't know that much about his other work, but I'm kind of put off by him now. Although I do generally agree with your comments and in particular what you say about this probably being a comic relief type stunt.
  5. Says:
Exactly, why are they interviewing some random kid from Bow, who they know, knows nothing about politics? Perhaps for comic relief. As for saying he's not really that talented, I would totally disagree. You've picked out some lyrics from a 'Club song' which is just meant to get people dancing. He has a lot more meaningful stuff, especially on his first album, and he delivers it amazingly. And there'll always be people that think it's stupid, but they don't really get the whole genre.
  6. Carmi Says:
So if he doesn't know anything about politics then why on earth is he being interviewed about a political issue on the most political show on tv? And by the way, he's really not that talented, i mean "come dance wiv me, come dance wiv me... maybe more than a hotel room ting" is hardly what I'd call earth shatteringly profound lyrics. Let's be fair, same old crap.
  7. EZRA Says:
This does make me laugh, but Dizzee isn't dumb (although on these issues he is), he's very talented at what he does and not many people could do it. He grew up in Bow; coming up in an area like that, learning about politics is the last thing on the list.
  8. Ora Says:
IS THIS DUDE ON DOPE? hip hop helped him win, my ass.
  9. PAHARITA Says:
    dizzee for PM!
  10. Radeliffe Says:
LMFAO That was de funniest shit i have ever seen boy STAND UP DIZZEE! 0:43 secs man looks BAFFLED u cud tell the interviewer & woman were thinking "Urgh, Utter moron" (which isn't the case). Wot a joker...
  11. Bernita Says:
King Dizzee....im with you dizzee man speak your mind bro....london is amazing screw you people who think diffrent dizzee is a legend and im sure he is well civilized face to face
  12. LINETTE Says:
    haha fuk you ignorant shit
  13. Breeda Says:
i dont think he is stupid... just unarticulate when you've lived and been bought up in east london you adapt to around you and most people around him talk like that and dont have alot of vocabulary... hard to explain lol
  14. POL Says:
We're the terrorists when you've got white gangs on the news being interviewed about killing infants with stray gunfire. Hold tight you innit. Everybody is to blame for London being fucked up. So before you start pointing fingers, educate yourself and come with some factual sensible statements rather than fake racist statistics that will obviously cause arguments. Safe (Y)
  15. Caith Says:
    Dizzee Dimwit
  16. Hogan Says:
    nice
  17. Jolanka Says:
What exactly were the bbc trying to achieve by interviewing this plonker? If they wanted an opinion which fairly and reasonably represented black voices, how about a David Lammy, a Lewis Hamilton, Lemaar or maybe any one of the hundreds of educated and/or clever black lawyers, accountants, hell even DJs that are out there would have done a far superior job than "Mr Rascal". I actually deleted "Come dance with me" from my ipod after this interview - even though I actually like the song!
  18. Irwin Says:
Dizee Rascal can only appeal to diwits like himself. He exhibits the usual intellect of hiphop rappers. A load of inarticulate, ill-educated dimwits who use the rhythm of nursery rhymes because thats the limit of their abilities. Know what I mean, innit?
  19. PARNELLA Says:
    "Mr Rascal" haha
  20. FILBERT Says:
wot u mean all this hiphop shit your wite governmnet just scram all the black people in estates and watch them kill themselves so fuk u, u fukin racist bastard
  21. DAFFODIL Says:
those statistics are wrong actually...if you knew anything why can't you just accept other people and tolerate it?? also there is no need to leave hurtful comments
  22. Lorah Says:
    fantastic interview. Love dizzee...init
  23. Noemie Says:
shut up niger. all the trouble in london is cuz of all this hip hop shit. 90% black people are criminals. fucken street terrorists.
  24. Deeana Says:
I'm a white guy in Melbourne Australia. The interviewer was condescending, unprofessional and glib. Go Dizzee. You're great!
  25. Tiladene Says:
    i'm not racist, but you're a genius
