January 7th, 2009 at 19:26:23 Thanks for the link.
January 7th, 2009 at 19:49:22 He has to, because of the format of his show and how time he has for Gatto. But yes, Gatto is at his best when he can take all the time he wants. Check out the MP3 archive I linked in the info box. It seems down atm, but hopefully will come back up.
January 7th, 2009 at 20:12:21 the host is extremely annoying in his habit of cutting Gatto off. I wish he would just let the man speak.
January 7th, 2009 at 20:35:20 if you liked this you all should read "Agianst School" by Gatto
January 7th, 2009 at 20:58:19 Knowledge is power, Arm yourself!!!

January 7th, 2009 at 21:44:17 With all due respect to the great president Thomas Jefferson, can his purpose for establishment of university be traced to that of East Prussia?
January 7th, 2009 at 22:07:16 What date did this show originally air? Late 2007, I think.
January 7th, 2009 at 22:30:15 True,we can what we were never taught in public schools,I commend you for schooling your kids & good luck
January 7th, 2009 at 22:53:14 Yes. You can deprogram and it takes time and people will think you're crazy. However, your life will suck because you will see all the fcuked up things the Gov is doing to us. I don't watch TV. No longer trust anything that I read, due to the fact that Corporations control what you read and thus try to program the way you think and feel.
January 7th, 2009 at 23:16:13 The only thing wrong with school is coercion.
January 7th, 2009 at 23:39:12 Being aware of it. Then, from time to time, you notice it. When I first became aware of home/unschooling, I intellectually understood it, and knew I would never send my kids to school, but my emotions still felt worried and doubtful, "what if I'm making a mistake?"... That wore off, with time. But it's amazing how ingrained it can be and more amazing how unaware we can be of all the learning in us we don't know about.
January 8th, 2009 at 00:02:11 As an American, I'm saddened at the overall lack of respect that so many Europeans, Canadians and others have toward Americans. Put bluntly, many(if not most)think that Americans are STUPID! This clearly WASN'T the popular opinion overseas prior to WWII, and I'm a firm believer that's because the deliberate "dumbing down" of America's school systems began as a concentrated effort AFTER WWII.

January 8th, 2009 at 01:11:08 how did you do it?
January 8th, 2009 at 01:34:07 Absolutely!
January 8th, 2009 at 01:57:06 I substitute teach and think every parent should sit in on their child's classes for a few days. They should look at the lessons, texts, and especially the tests questions. There is something very wrong going on in our schools. The students are miserable and angry, because they recognize bulls*#@t when they hear it. Give them a little valuable honest information and they are all ears and appreciate it. They aren't stupid. Well, not until schooled in High School. That makes them stupid.
January 8th, 2009 at 02:20:05 You can deprogram your self I did but it takes time
January 8th, 2009 at 02:43:04 wow...God has had us get right out of the public school system..HE allowed ne to see through each teacher, and what He allowed me to see was terrible..I will never stick my children back in public school. I'm a Homeschooling mother of 4... A's, B's, and fantastic character, mature, innocent, peaceful, grateful children! Homeschooling is the best of the best. God says,"Don't follow masses. But many are willing to stay blind, hating wisdom & God. " anna-FLAT-LINED, DIED, & met Jesus

January 8th, 2009 at 03:29:02 I should clarify - they were spies working for the Chinese govt.
January 8th, 2009 at 03:52:01 Going back to the Chinese stealing American ideas - back in the 70s a large number of Chinese working in the US Aerospace industry defected back to China stealing a countless number of patented concepts from these companies. Sadly, as a result US Aerospace companies will now only hire natural born US citizens.
January 8th, 2009 at 04:15:00 go read his book titled The Underground History of American Education at johntaylorgatto dot com
January 8th, 2009 at 04:37:59 I'm glad I was homeschooled. Yet, Gatto's book talks about George Washington (His Dad died when he was 11, then he took 2yrs of school to learn trig. to become a surveyor. By age 21, he had amassed 2500 acres of land). It makes me realize there's something missing, even for a homeschooler. I graduated at 17 as a National Merit Scholar and then got a BS in physics - but that's nothing compared some historical figures. I'm 25, and the greatest achievements of my life are some pieces of paper.
