January 7th, 2009 at 20:08:26 silly to says whose better, what if they are the same level, then it would be whose guitar is better
January 7th, 2009 at 20:31:25 I don't know that Clapton ever played with anyone named Duane "Dolman." He did play with Duane Allman. And according to the songwriting credits on the song "Layla," it was written by Eric Clapton and Jim Gordon. Jim Gordon wrote the piano outro Clapton wrote the rest of the music and the lyrics...if Duane in fact did write the riff like you claim Eric would've given him credit for it. Don't count on Wikipedia for your info...I use the Layla album sleeve, and Clapton's autobiography.
January 7th, 2009 at 20:54:24 I was being facetious!. "Derek and the Dominos were a blues-rock supergroup formed in the spring of 1970 by guitarist and singer Eric Clapton with keyboardist Bobby Whitlock, bassist Carl Radle and drummer Jim Gordon, who had all played with Clapton in Delaney, Bonnie & Friends."
January 7th, 2009 at 21:17:23 No, definately Derek and the Dominoes... Google it...
January 7th, 2009 at 21:40:22 You mean Eric and the Dominoes?
January 7th, 2009 at 22:03:21 Then how do you explain the fact that Clapton put together the most famous Rock and Blues band in Music History? He put together Cream, and he wrote most of their songs, according to other sources, not including his autobiography and Jack Bruce's previous speeches, Jack had little input...
January 7th, 2009 at 22:26:20 Incorrect, it was composed by Duane Dolman... Only the Lyrics were written by clapton, it belongs to the band Derek and the Dominoes
January 7th, 2009 at 22:49:19 maestros en la guitarrra...lo maximo
January 7th, 2009 at 23:12:18 very funny whos better, you think they will care?,two leyends they survived 40 years in the music industry santana tours the world every year, younger generations know about them, both play blues, rock, jazz fusssion etc. it does'nt get better than this, hendrix die, page (rusty) little. enjoy it and stop thinking whos the best, coz they are having lots of fun while you are crying.
January 8th, 2009 at 23:35:17 Why are we fighting over whos better? Its personal opinion nothing more.
January 8th, 2009 at 23:58:16 clapton is better than santana
January 8th, 2009 at 00:21:15 Hm...let's see...by himself he wrote: Wonderful Tonight, She's Gone, Bell Bottomed Blues..so by himself he is a good or decent songwriter. But in collaboration he's written CLASSICS. Badge, Layla (Which was written with Jim Gordon a drummer who wrote the piano outro), Tears In Heaven, & the list goes on. Carlos Santana has ZERO diversity in his playing, all he is is a phenomenal jam band latin/psychedelic rock guitar player. Clapton is much more...accept it.
January 8th, 2009 at 00:44:14 That's quite the insteresting take on things. While I do believe that Santana and Clapton are incredible guitar players and incredible musicians as well, Clapton is truly the better of the two. The man can play anything, from reggae to latin to blues to rock to physcadelic to hard rock to jazz to funk, he is the epitemy of a great musician. While Santana is phenomenal, Eric Clapton is in a league of his own.
January 8th, 2009 at 01:07:13 No, Layla was composed by clapton.
January 8th, 2009 at 01:30:12 yeah it's great that they put that up there
