January 7th, 2009 at 14:30:27 To me the best pound for pound fighter is a dumb argument or saying. Reason being it does not matter. If the lower weight guy can not beat the heavier fighter/which would be the case most of the time, then he can not be called better. Fedor would crush Silva, but that the only guy that would right now. Silva could beat about everyone in the next weight class up. Weight classes just keep more champions fighting but it keeps the best from fighting sometimes. I like the old ufc rules. Best guy wins
January 7th, 2009 at 14:53:26 fedor will beat orlovski with an armbar 2 minutes into round 1.
January 7th, 2009 at 15:16:25 fedor is the real deal he hits hard he can take hits & a master of submissions. but to me silva's skills out distance his and anyone else that i've seen in mma.if only silva can move up and fedor come down to meet in lightheavy weight division that would be a dream match.
January 7th, 2009 at 15:39:24 hugh, hugh fedor fan here. ur right he's beaten guys bigger than him but come on who has he beaten long duck cho or what ever that giant chinesse guy name was,tim sylva who always looks scared to hit anyone.he's still the best heavyweight & he will beat andre the pitbull,& if he were in the ufc he would beat brock, mir and their other top heavyweights i think so. hes already beaten minutaro 2x. fyi silva will always have a reach advantage cause god gave him long limbs.
January 7th, 2009 at 16:02:23 Disregarding the fact that I think P4P rankings are silly, being based on nothing but assumptions, but why would you say that? Not only has Anderson lost several times in his career (Fedor hasn't), but he fights people smaller than himself. He cuts weight to make 185, so he has a size/reach advantage over his opponents. Fedor has always been small for his weight class, fighting people who outweigh him and are much taller. Fedor beats people bigger than him, Anderson beats people smaller than him
January 7th, 2009 at 16:25:22 if uve read the convo... iwas refering to bruce lee and not fedor...obviously fedor is boxing/sambo orientated plz make sure u know the full details before commenting.
January 7th, 2009 at 16:48:21 fedor has never touched wing chung its a bullied childs martial art.
January 7th, 2009 at 17:11:20 um...his main thing was wing chun... idk where u got the kick boxing thing from >_>
January 7th, 2009 at 17:34:19 not true, where did he said that?
January 7th, 2009 at 17:57:18 Anderson lost 4 times :)
January 7th, 2009 at 18:20:17 Bj Penn Is Talented But Anderson Silva is with out a Doubt THE BEST
January 7th, 2009 at 18:43:16 Bruce was primarily a kickboxer... his style was based on boxing and fencing although he did acknowledge the benefits of wrestling. However, Bruce was not even close to being the first to promote the idea of well rounded fighters...others did that way before Bruce's time... Kajukenbo/Hawaian Kenpo promoted hybrid martial arts way before Bruce's time (1945). However, the resulting style is good for nothing, but for shows!
January 7th, 2009 at 19:06:15 yes but he was also a fighter, he was one of the first instructors to come with the idea of a well rounded fighter
January 7th, 2009 at 19:29:14 i think fedor is the best heavyweight, but to me the best pound for pound fighter would have to anderson silva
January 7th, 2009 at 19:52:13 one thing for sure- bruce lee can run faster !! ahahahahaha bruce lee????
January 7th, 2009 at 20:15:12 Bruce Lee is a Hollywood figurine.
January 7th, 2009 at 20:38:11 good point. yes kicks alone is not effective. but the same can be said about all other martials like boxing, judo and so on. bass ruten learned his kicks at taekwondo and he kicks like a muel
January 7th, 2009 at 21:01:10 fedor is the man to beat. he is the best right now can't wait to see his next fight.
January 7th, 2009 at 21:24:09 Couture deserves respect,he has been here since the dawn of MMA
January 7th, 2009 at 21:47:08 fedor hits haaaaaaaaarrrd.....even when his not trying......
January 7th, 2009 at 22:10:07 ok its great that you're all theory crafting on shit you have no experience in nor knowledge about, and this whole fedor vs bruce lee shit?! get real, they'd be in different weight classes for one... They're both legends and deserve respect, shut ur mouths
January 7th, 2009 at 22:33:06 i think Fedor will win in a ring fight from bruce lee, but on the street it will be a different story, though fedor is the best pound for pound fighter in the world right now !
January 7th, 2009 at 22:56:05 Possibly the greatest fighter in the world at the moment, great sportsman, great fighter!
January 7th, 2009 at 23:19:04 dont talk shit about TKD, the TKD training emphasizes flexibility more than anything, which is extremely beneficial for muscle health, and stamina. plus the kicking style combat I learned from it, I use it to hone my own style of fighting
January 8th, 2009 at 23:42:03 MUHAHHAA lesnar beat the crap out of couture so STFU MMA-NEWBIE
