January 7th, 2009 at 16:09:05 THE QUEEN OF BLUES KOKO TAYLOR! A true Legend!
January 7th, 2009 at 16:32:04 So glad to read she finally got recognized. Saw her at least 20 times in Chicago & sub. areas. Sure wish she'd come out to CA and sing. Super glad to see her sing at the Kennedy Awards last night too! About time..
January 7th, 2009 at 16:55:03 I love this this was my grannies fav. song, when we hung out at her house. She should have been in the movie Cadillac.
January 7th, 2009 at 17:18:02 looks like sonny terry and brownie mcgee sittin in....or just sittin'...
January 7th, 2009 at 17:41:01 Sadly, women who look like this wouldn't be allowed to grace a stage, unless they're singing gospel...PEACE.
January 7th, 2009 at 18:04:00 Also adding to the historical significance of this clip is Hound Dog Taylor supporting: the tall cat on the left blazing the guitar.
January 7th, 2009 at 18:26:59 West Indians & Guyanese too. :)
January 7th, 2009 at 18:49:58 Great video, thanks. I just saw Koko at the Blues Festival last summer.
January 7th, 2009 at 19:12:57 Koko just turned 80 and is nominated for Best Ladies Blues singer in Chicago. The results will be known in early 2009. Her band was in a major vehicle accident last summer so hopefully all are well.
January 7th, 2009 at 19:35:56 Only women with them good southern roots can wear them golds in their mouth and make it look good!
January 7th, 2009 at 19:58:55 I remember seeing her live in the late 60's or early 70's singing this song. Don't think I appreciated her then as much as I do now...
January 7th, 2009 at 20:21:54 not quite the same thing, but i would highly recommend sharon jones and the dap kings live!
January 7th, 2009 at 20:44:53 love that gold tooth. Boy o boy. Those were the days.
January 7th, 2009 at 21:07:52 Bad mama! I love how the blues was about the message. It was so simple. Friggin synthesizers and half dressed women. . . I wonder where I can see thing like this live. Thank God for the videos. GREAT CLIP! RIP to the greatest Harmonica player EVER, Little Walter

January 7th, 2009 at 22:39:48 is this sampled on "Cuban Linx"??? now thats a KILLLLER album! this is 4kn awesome!! Koko rocks! *****
January 7th, 2009 at 23:02:47 you have to remember this was before the time when record executives would go to modeling agencies and pull from head shots to find singers (which is literally what they do now is most cases)...they actually listened to people's voices and judged things like whether or not they could play an instrument or write lyrics and music before they gave them a record contract...i know that's a foreign concept nowadays but just bear with me.
