Comments to “Dieterich Buxtehude, g minor prelude, Gustav Leonhardt plays”

January 7th, 2009 at 20:41:33 I agree Leonhardt's version of the Goldbergs is one of the two greatest ever recorded. In my opinion, Rosalyn Tureck is the other version. Glenn Gould's is absolutely mindblowing and the work of one of the greatest musical genius in History, but not my favourite. My two cents!
January 7th, 2009 at 21:04:32 One of my favorite videos found on Youtube.
January 7th, 2009 at 21:27:31 amazing! spectacular performance
January 7th, 2009 at 21:50:30 Leonhardt it was my teacher!! Is a very good organist especially for french and deutsch music! Luigi Chiarizia
January 7th, 2009 at 22:13:29 I don't know about "the greatest" - such adjectives are almost always meaningless. In general there is no "greatest" film, book, recording, etc. For example, I love Gwendolyn Toth's Goldbergs performed on the Lautenwerk (Bach's favourite home instrument). I never quite understood what's so great about Glenn Gould, BTW. Competent and forgettable. My opinion only.
January 7th, 2009 at 22:36:28 with gleen gould, gustav Leonhardt has the greatest recording of the goldberg variations in this world
January 7th, 2009 at 22:59:27 I never would have thought I would get this would get this stuck in my head, especially for my entire shift of work. Leondhardt gives excellent emphasis where he feels, particularly the recurring part in the right hand that climaxes at 3:07. Beautiful.
January 7th, 2009 at 23:22:26 might as well... that guy has brain constipation anyhow. This is the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. Beauvais can not be compared to it on any level. Love all these "critics". We are waiting to hear THEIR recordings so they can show these masters how it is supposed to be done........uh...still waiting.......
January 7th, 2009 at 23:45:25 Buxtehude con Gustav Leonhardt, alcanza lo sobrenatural.Un viaje al transinfinito.
January 8th, 2009 at 00:08:24 I love this peice to death. It's great!
January 8th, 2009 at 00:31:23 Is one of most beautiful Buxtehude's preludes
January 8th, 2009 at 00:54:22 wonderful, Leonhardt is soooo great, I do like his style :) Gret player
January 8th, 2009 at 01:17:21 Gustav Leonhardt came to my town (Giaveno, northern Italy) last sunday for an organ concert. Of course I was there, and it was one of the most touching musical experience I've ever had. He is incredible, and to me it was incredible too to hear him live after so many years having listened to his records...
January 8th, 2009 at 01:40:20 Leonhardt, my hero!
January 8th, 2009 at 02:03:19 my god ...
January 8th, 2009 at 02:26:18 Beautiful.
January 8th, 2009 at 02:49:17 You describe it as "autistic" but many people with autism have increadible musical gifts. Perhaps "palsied" is what you were going for but either way you're a bit of a twat.
January 8th, 2009 at 03:12:16 Given that the organ at Beauvais Cathedral is actually a nice instrument, should we view your first sentence as a compliment? ;-)
January 8th, 2009 at 03:35:15 perfect, he is amazing i love this organ
January 8th, 2009 at 03:58:14 Marvellous, as usual... Leonhardt is really good
January 8th, 2009 at 04:21:13 STYLusPHANTasticus why do you even bother listening to other organists ?. if you cannot apreciate the music and only look for "the best preset idea of a peice" then your missing out a grate deal. music is not a competition. leonhardt always brings a soul to the music , and i would rather hear him making the odd mistake than a carbon copy grade player emulating what he has been told to play like ignoring his own feelings.
January 8th, 2009 at 04:44:12 I think if we heard the song the way the maker intended, there would be a good chance we would all be quite surprised.
January 8th, 2009 at 05:07:11 I AWARD THIS 5 BEAUVAIS CATHEDRALS....for being a spineless, autistic, colorless, plastic attempt at this expression.Almost every section sounded equally blase...almost like shopping for the 3rd time in one day at WALMART.HERE IS THE TRUE..."STYLUS FARTULATUS SONNAMBULATUS"
January 8th, 2009 at 05:30:10 Mr. Koopman is an extraordinary virtuose. However his performances usually sacrify the music for speed.
January 8th, 2009 at 05:53:09 One can see way Bach walked more than 200 miles to hear Buxtehude play. To bad they didn't have recording devices then, imagine being able to hear the masters true and original vision?
